Adding good lighting to the home is essential in order to make the most of what you have both within the home and outside of the home. You can choose from a multitude of products including chandeliers, spot lighting and mood lights. You no longer have to be dependent on the standard household bulb. It is important to remember though to check out what wattage your fitting actually takes.

Knowing which bulb is best for you
Holgen bulbs use a much higher wattage than a standard bulb, so if you are wanting to save energy within the home, then it is a good idea to check out the wattage on your fitting and how much it might cost you each year on average to light.
Florescent Lighting
This is the lighting which is often used in offices and shopping outlets. They used to be rather annoying at time and when running out of bulb used to flicker and buzz but there are now lots of different varieties of these.

These lights can be mounted on both the ceiling and on the walls and can be used in quite traditional homes and the modern type of home. They can be pointed in the direction you wish.
Energy Saving Lighting
There are lots of bulbs which are now used to save and preserve energy and can last for a maximum of 10 years in total. It is important to remember however that we can easily save money on our lighting bills by taking a few simple steps, such as:
· If you are not in a room, then turn the lights off.
· If you have ordinary bulbs within the home, them replace them with energy saving bulbs. These are often on offer in supermarkets nowadays.
· Fit timers and dimmer switches. Motion sensors that turn on and off when you enter and leave are already being installed in some houses although they're expensive at the moment.
