· The best way to use lighting effectively, is to make the most of the light you already have, meaning making the most of the natural light which floods into your home on a daily basis. Also if you are one of the many thousands of people who work from home on a daily basis, then you should consider placing your desk in a prime spot for natural lighting. If you don’t have the money to renovate the home but want to make the most of your natural light, then here are some great solutions:
o Find a space on the wall opposite a window and hand a mirror.
o If you have heavy curtains at the window and net curtains take these down, replace them with materials which are light and airy such as muslin or voile.
o Replace inner doors with glass panelled doors, this will allow the light to flood through.
o Use pale furnishing and carpets throughout the home to create a light and airy feel.
